Jammu and Kashmir Allocates ₹21.16 Crore for AAYAs/Helpers
The Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, Jammu and Kashmir, has sanctioned ₹21,16,40,000 for “Manpower Deployment” under its Pre-Primary Level Existing (Recurring) scheme for the 2024-25 period. This funding serves as honorariums for AAYAs/Helpers employed in pre-primary education across the region. The order (No. 230-Chirag of 2024) was issued on December 5, 2024.
Key Details:
District Allocation: The funds are distributed among 20 districts, benefiting a total of 10,582 helpers. The amount varies depending on the number of workers in each district. For example:
- Anantnag: ₹29.75 crore for 862 helpers.
- Baramulla: ₹36.44 crore for 1,060 helpers.
- Kupwara: ₹40.35 crore for 1,165 helpers.
Honorarium: Each AAYA/helper will receive ₹5,000 per month for four months (July–October 2024).
Funding Breakdown:
- ₹14.95 crore was previously released up to June 2024.
- An additional ₹21.16 crore is allocated for the remaining months.
Conditions for Utilization:
- Funds must be used strictly per the Ministry of Education’s approval for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
- Honorariums will be paid based on performance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- All legal and procedural formalities must be observed, especially for matters under judicial consideration.
This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen pre-primary education and support manpower deployment under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
