Current Situation of Naib Tehsildar Posts in Jammu and Kashmir
In Jammu and Kashmir, there are currently 86 Naib Tehsildar posts lying vacant, which is significantly impacting the efficiency of revenue collection, land record maintenance, and various administrative tasks.

Distribution of Vacancies
The majority of these vacant posts are located in the Kashmir division, while 35 vacancies are reported in the Jammu region. Notably, there are no vacant Naib Tehsildar positions in the Samba and Udhampur districts of Jammu division, and similarly, Ganderbal district in the Kashmir region also has no vacancies.
This shortage of personnel is likely to hinder the effective functioning of the revenue department, which relies on Naib Tehsildars for crucial tasks such as land revenue collection and maintaining accurate land records.
