The General Administration Department of the Jammu and Kashmir government has issued multiple promotion orders for officers in the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS). These promotions, approved by the Council of Ministers, come into effect from January 20, 2025.
Promotions to the Super Time Scale
Mr. Ajaz Abdullah Saraf has been promoted to the Super Time Scale (Pay Level 14: ₹1,44,200–₹2,18,200) of JKAS. His promotion is subject to the outcome of any pending writ petitions.
Promotions to the Special Scale
Two officers have been promoted to the Special Scale (Pay Level 13: ₹1,23,100–₹2,15,900):
- Mr. Devinder Singh Katoch
- Mr. Soheel Noor Shah (who has also been designated as Special Secretary in the respective department)
Promotions to the Selection Grade
Five officers have been promoted to the Selection Grade (Pay Level 12: ₹78,800–₹2,09,200):
- Shavi
- Sanchi Misra
- Mantasha Binti Rashid
- Shafiq Ahmad
- Javeed Naseem Masoodi
The orders were issued by Mr. M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government. The promotions are subject to the final decisions of pending legal cases, if any.
These advancements are expected to improve administrative efficiency in the region by ensuring experienced officers are placed in key roles.
