Jammu & Kashmir Govt Reshuffles Senior IPS Officers

Jammu/Srinagar, January 30, 2025: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced major transfers and postings of IPS officers, following an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

According to Government Order, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar, IPS, has been relieved from his post in Jammu and Kashmir to take up a new assignment in the Delhi Segment of the AGMUT Cadre.

Following his transfer, the government has ordered the following immediate changes in police postings:

  1. S.J.M. Gillani, IPS, DGP, MD Police Housing Corporation, will also hold the additional charge of Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF, J&K, until further orders.
  2. Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Jammu Zone, has been transferred and appointed as ADGP Armed, J&K.
  3. Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, IGP (POS), PHQ, who was also handling IGP (Hqrs) PHQ, IGP (Technical Services) J&K, and IGP (Telecom), is now transferred and posted as IGP Jammu Zone.
  4. M. Suleman Choudhary, IPS, IGP Traffic, J&K, will now take on the additional charge of IGP (POS) PHQ, IGP (Hqrs) PHQ, IGP (Technical Services), J&K, and IGP (Telecom), along with his current responsibilities.

These transfers are expected to enhance the operational efficiency of the police force in the Union Territory.
