Age Limit (as of January 1, 2024)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age:
  • General/Reserved Categories: 28 years (born between January 1, 1996, and January 1, 2006)
  • In-Service Police Personnel: 30 years (born between January 1, 1994, and January 1, 2006)
  • SPOS and Volunteer Home Guards: 40 years (born between January 1, 1984, and January 1, 2006)
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation applicable as per service duration, not exceeding 3 years beyond the maximum age limit.

Physical Standards

For Males:

• Height: Minimum 5’6″
• Chest Girth: 32″ (unexpanded), 33.5″ (expanded)

For Females:

• Height: Minimum 5’2″

Relaxation: For candidates from the Gorkha Community and Bot Tribe, the minimum height requirement is relaxable by 2 inches.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

For Male Candidates:

• Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 minutes 30 seconds
• Push-ups: 20 (one cycle of up and down counts as one)

For Female Candidates:

• Long Race: 1000 meters in 6 minutes 30 seconds
• Shot Put (4 Kgs): 14.5 feet in three attempts
