JKSSB Announces Final Selection List for Supervisor Posts in Social Welfare Department

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has officially released the Final Selection List for the post of Supervisor under the Social Welfare Department. The list pertains to various district cadres across Jammu and Kashmir, including Kupwara, Jammu, Kathua, Baramulla, Rajouri, Samba, Budgam, Ganderbal, Poonch, Reasi, Kishtwar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Kulgam, Bandipora, Doda, Shopian, Ramban, and Udhampur.

Key Highlights of the Recruitment Process:

  • Total Advertised Posts: 201 (later revised to 186).
  • Advertisement Notification: No. 02 of 2023, dated 08.12.2023.
  • Selection Notification: No. 02-Selection of 2025, dated 24.02.2025.

Eligibility Criteria:

The recruitment required candidates to be female graduates, with preference given to those having a background in Home Science, Child Development, or Sociology.

District-Wise Allocation:

The selection list includes a breakdown of category-wise distribution of posts for different district cadres, covering categories such as OM (Open Merit), SC, ST, OSC, ALC/IB, RBA, PSP, and EWS.

Document Verification and Tribunal Order:

  • Document verification for candidates in the selection zone was conducted on 05.10.2024.
  • A tribunal case (Nancy Sharma vs UT of J&K & Others) led to the reservation of one OM category post in Jammu. However, the tribunal later dismissed the case, allowing the reserved post to be filled from the provisional selection list.

Final Decision and Approval:

The selection list was approved by the Board in its 298th meeting on 24.02.2025, with the final slot filled as per the tribunal’s decision.

Next Steps for Selected Candidates:

  • The selection remains subject to any pending writ petitions or inquiries.
  • The document verification process was limited to checking the authenticity of certificates, while final appointment responsibility lies with the Social Welfare Department.
