Minimum Temperatures Recorded Across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh

The Kashmir region experienced freezing temperatures today, with several areas dipping below the freezing point. Among the coldest places were Shopian and Larnoo, both recording a low of -3.5°C, followed closely by Gulmarg at -3.4°C. Zojila stood out as the coldest location in the region, recording an extreme minimum of -18.0°C. Srinagar, the summer capital, registered a low of -0.5°C, while Kupwara was slightly warmer at 0.1°C.

      Qazigund = -1.0°C
      Pahalgam = -2.8°C
      Kupwara = 0.1°C
      Kokernag = 0.4°C
      Gulmarg = -3.4°C
      Sonamarg = -2.2°C
      Zojila = -18.0°C
      Anantnag = -2.1°C
      Ganderbal = -0.7°C
      Pulwama = -2.1°C
      Bandipora = -0.7°C
      Baramulla = -0.1°C
      Budgam = -1.3°C

In the Jammu region, comparatively milder conditions prevailed. Jammu city recorded 8.7°C, while Katra saw a low of 8.0°C. However, Padder was notably cold at -4.4°C. Ramban recorded the highest minimum temperature in the region at 11.4°C.

In Ladakh, sub-zero temperatures were the norm. Leh recorded -7.2°C, and Kargil followed at -5.6°C. However, data for Drass, known as one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, was unavailable.

These readings highlight the ongoing winter chill across the region, with temperatures expected to dip further as the season progresses.
