NEET Exam Paper Leak Case | Big Update

NEET UG Examination Paper Leak Case: On August 1, 2024, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed its first charge sheet in the alleged NEET UG examination paper leak case, naming 13 individuals as accused. This charge sheet was submitted to a special CBI court in Patna and includes serious allegations such as criminal conspiracycheating, and destruction of evidence under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)

Details of the Accused

The individuals named in the charge sheet are:

  • Nitish Kumar
  • Amit Anand
  • Sikander Yadvendu
  • Ashutosh Kumar-1
  • Roshan Kumar
  • Manish Prakash
  • Ashutosh Kumar-2
  • Akhilesh Kumar
  • Avdesh Kumar
  • Anurag Yadav
  • Abhishek Kumar
  • Shivnandan Kumar
  • Ayush Raj

These accused were arrested by the Bihar Police during their investigation between the examination date on May 5, 2024, and when the CBI took over the case on June 23, 2024

Investigation Techniques and Findings

The CBI has employed advanced forensic techniques, including Artificial Intelligence technology, CCTV footage analysis, and tower location analysis, to gather evidence against the accused 

The investigation revealed that the NEET UG question papers were allegedly accessed from Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, with the involvement of the school’s principal and vice principal. 
Key findings include:
  • The trunks containing the question papers were brought to the school on the morning of the exam.
  • Pankaj Kumar, one of the main accused, allegedly accessed the papers using sophisticated tools
  • The solved papers were distributed to select students who had paid for them, with several MBBS students identified as solvers.

Ongoing Investigations and Arrests

As of now, the CBI has arrested a total of 40 individuals in connection with this case, including 15 by the Bihar Police. The agency is continuing its investigation to identify other masterminds and key players involved in orchestrating the leak. 


The CBI has also lodged six FIRs related to various aspects of the case, including impersonation and cheating in different states. 

Conclusion

The NEET UG examination paper leak case has raised significant concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process, affecting over 23 lakh candidates who appeared for the test. The CBI’s ongoing investigation aims to ensure accountability and transparency in the examination system.
