Pre & Post-Matric Scholarships 2024 For Scheduled Caste (SC) Students – Apply Online Here

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is currently open for applications for both Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships specifically for Scheduled Caste (SC) students in India. This initiative is managed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and aims to provide financial assistance to eligible students.

Eligibility Criteria

Pre-Matric Scholarship:

  • Eligibility:
    • Students belonging to the SC category.
    • Parents/Guardians’ annual income must not exceed Rs 2.50 Lakhs.
    • Applicable for students studying in class 9 and 10 in recognized schools.
  • Entitlement:
    • Academic allowance ranging from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 7,000 per annum.
    • An additional 10% allowance for Divyang (specially abled) students.

Post-Matric Scholarship:

  • Eligibility:
    • Students whose parents/guardians have an annual income not exceeding Rs 2.5 Lakhs.
    • Students pursuing courses in recognized schools/colleges from class 11 onwards.
  • Entitlement:
    • Compulsory non-refundable fees (including tuition fees).
    • Academic allowance ranging from Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 13,500 per annum.
    • An additional 10% allowance for Divyang students.

Application Process

Eligible students from NSP-onboarded States/UTs, including Assam, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Punjab (for Pre-Matric only), Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttarakhand, can apply directly through the NSP. Students from other States/UTs should apply through their respective State Scholarship Portals.

  • The NSP is designed to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds, aiming to reduce dropout rates and improve educational outcomes.
  • The application process requires a One Time Registration (OTR), which is essential for tracking and managing scholarship applications.
