During the period from June 1 to August 29, 2024, Jammu and Kashmir experienced significant variations in rainfall, with many districts facing substantial deficits.
Deficit Rainfall Overview
- Kashmir Division: Recorded a deficit of 50% in rainfall.
- Jammu Division: Experienced a deficit of 29%
District-Specific Rainfall
- Despite the overall deficits, certain districts such as Jammu, Samba, Udhampur, Rajouri, Baramulla, and Pulwama reported normal rainfall levels.
- Conversely, many other districts faced severe deficits. For instance, Poonch district recorded a staggering 95% deficit, receiving only 10 mm of rainfall compared to the average of 201.3 mm.
