Application Process
To apply for these scholarships, applicants are advised to apply online through the National Scholarship Portal at www.scholarships.gov.in. The online application process can also be accessed through the National Scholarship Portal. A person with benchmark disability i.e., having not less than 40% disability, and having a Unique Disability Identity (UDID) or UDID enrolment number along with Disability Certificate can apply.
Timeline for Submission of Online Applications
The timeline for submission of online applications varies depending on the scholarship scheme:
- Pre-Matric Scholarship: The application period starts on June 30, 2024, and ends on August 31, 2024.
- Post-Matric Scholarship and Top Class Scholarship: The application period starts on June 30, 2024, and ends on October 31, 2024.
It’s important to note that the slots for these schemes include both fresh and renewal cases. Fresh cases will be considered only after processing all the renewal cases, and the number of slots available in a year is fixed. Additionally, 50% of the slots are reserved for female candidates.
National Overseas Scholarship Scheme
The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities also offers the National Overseas Scholarship for students with disabilities. This scholarship provides an opportunity for eligible students to pursue higher education abroad.
