The right-arm pacer from Jammu, who made his ODI debut for India last month against New Zealand, wasn’t selected in the playing XI for the series opener against Bangladesh on Sunday (December 4), but after Kuldeep Sen was ruled out of the second game, he was included in the XI in his place.
Umran Malik was on fire after India brought him into the attack during the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Umran was introduced to the attack in the 12th over of the innings, and after starting his spell with a maiden over, the 23-year-old bowled an absolute beauty on the first ball of his second over to send Najmul Hossain Shanto packing. The 24-year-old left-handed batter had no answer to Umran’s 151 kmph stunner that sent his off-stump for a walk.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Litton Das decided to bat. After suffering a shocking loss to Bangladesh in the opening match in Dhaka, India will be fired up to make a big comeback in the ODI series. India had reduced the hosts to 136/9 in the run-chase after defending a meager 187-run goal; nevertheless, Mehidy Hasan’s valiant unbroken effort (38*) clinched a memorable one-wicket victory for Bangladesh.
