ACC Approves Appointments Of IAS, IPS and Other Officers

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the following appointments:

  • Shri Apurva Chandra, IAS (MH:88), Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting as Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
  • Shri Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, IAS (UK:88) (Retd.) as Secretary to the Lokpal on contract basis for a period of one year from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, on usual terms and conditions as applicable to re-employed Central Government officers.
  • Shri Raj Kumar Goyal, IAS (UT:90), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Shri Niten Chandra, IAS (OR:90), Secretary, Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice as Secretary, Department of Ex- Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.
  • Shri K. Moses Chalai, IAS (MN:90), Secretary, North Eastern Council Secretariat, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region as Secretary Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • Shri Anil Malik, IAS (HY:91), presently in the cadre, as Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Women and Child Development in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development vice Shri Indevar Pandey, IAS (WB:88) upon his superannuation on 29.02.2024.
  • Ms. Sumita Dawra, IAS (AP:91), Special Secretary (Logistics), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry as Officer on Special Duty, Ministry of Labour and Employment in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India. The officer will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment vice Ms. Arti Ahuja, IAS (OR:90) upon her superannuation on 29.02.2024.
  • Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS (UT:92), Special Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation as Chairman, Inland Waterways Authority of India, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post.
  • Shri Ashish Kumar Bhutani, IAS (AM:92), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation.
  • Shri Sanjay Jaju, IAS (TG:92), presently in the cadre, as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting vice Shri Apurva Chandra, IAS (MH:88) upon his appointment as Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare.

The ACC has also approved in-situ upgradation of the following officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:

  • Shri P. Daniel, IDES:89, Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission as Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
  • Ms. Rashmi Chowdhary, IRPS:89, Secretary, Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel and Training as Secretary, Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel and Training in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.
  • Ms. A. Neeraja, IFOS (UP:90). Additional Secretary, Department of Fertilizers as Special Secretary, Department of Fertilizers.
  • Shri Shyam Bhagat Negi, IPS (HP:90), Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR) as Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR).

The ACC has further approved appointment of Ms. Reeta Vasishta, Incharge, Central Agency Section, Ministry of Law & Justice as Member Secretary, 22nd Law Commission of India, with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post till the end of the term of the Commission or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Her appointment will be subject to the outcome of W.P. Nos. 7140/2014 and 5003/2014 pending before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi.
