Airtel in mid-March launched an introductory unlimited 5G data offer for its prepaid and postpaid customers who are on data plans of Rs 239 and above. To recall, Jio has already been providing unlimited 5G data with its prepaid plans under the ‘Jio Welcome Offer’ and has also rolled out new postpaid plans with the 5G data benefit.
“This introductory offer is in line with the philosophy of wanting our customers to be able to surf, stream, chat and enjoy multiple benefits at blazing speeds without having to worry about data limits,” Shashwat Sharma, director (consumer business) at Airtel had said in a statement. Customers with 5G devices need to log on to the Airtel Thanks App to avail of the unlimited data offer.
Airtel’s 5G Plus service, which offers up to 30 times faster speeds than 4G, is available in over 500 cities across India. Both Jio and Airtel aim to complete their 5G roll outs by December 2023 and March 2024, respectively. (ET Telecom)
