The mighty Jhelum which crossed the danger mark in September of 2014, inundating Srinagar city, is currently flowing at its lowest level in the last 60 years. The prolonged dry spell and record-breaking heat wave in the Kashmir valley has drastically reduced the water flow in the river, sparking concern among environmentalists and residents alike about the city’s future.
