NCDC honours Gandhi Bhavan Secretary Dr. Punalur Somarajan
National Child Development Council (NCDC), a national child welfare organisation, has honoured Gandhi Bhavan Secretary in Kerala Dr. Punalur Somarajan, who received this year’s Keshavan Memorial Award from the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan.
As per the official statement, NCDC Master Trainer Baba Alexander felicitated and presented ‘Ponnada’ to Punalur Somarajan and his wife Prasanna Somarajan at the meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan, Pathanapuram.
On the occasion, Baba Alexander said that, “Punalur Somarajan is a person who has done many exemplary works in the field of philanthropy and his ideas should be included in the school curriculum.”
He also said that, “it is the need of the hour to include values such as philanthropy, respect for parents, truth, dharma, kindness, non-violence, conservation of nature and other living beings in the school curriculum.”
Notably, NCDC is a self-governing national child welfare organization established to promote women and child welfare and ensure child education in India.
