Under the PM YASASVI program, a total of ₹32.44 Crore has been released for Pre-matric Scholarships and ₹387.27 Crore for Post-Matric Scholarships to States/Union Territories (UTs). These scholarships are intended to support students in continuing their education.
Students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified Nomadic Tribes (DNT) are eligible to apply for the PM YASASVI scholarship program. It provides pre-matric scholarships for students in grades 9 and 10, as well as post-matric scholarships for higher education. Exceptional pupils may be eligible to apply for scholarships to prestigious universities and colleges. Additionally, hostel facilities are provided for OBC students through a construction scheme. . In conclusion, the initiative includes building hostels, assistance for top class education, and subsidies for both pre- and post-matriculation education for OBC students.
Under the PM YASASVI program, OBC, EBC, and DNT students can apply through the National Scholarship Portal for the Top Class School Education and Top Class College Education schemes until January 31, 2024.
Additionally, ₹12.75 crore has been set aside for the construction of hostels for OBC boys and girls, which would help those from socially and educationally poor families, particularly those living in rural areas, have access to high-quality education.
With the help of PM YASASVI, students from underprivileged backgrounds will be empowered, equal access to education will be ensured, and a better future for India’s youth will be fostered. Applications for the National Scholarship Portal will be accepted through January 31, 2024, giving qualified students the chance to take advantage of these programs and improve their chances of getting into college.
