Shia Leader (Molvi Imran Reza Ansari) Seeks Police Action Against Facebook Page for Hate Speech “Rafizi”- Details Here

Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: Molvi Imran Reza Ansari, President of the All JK Shia Association, has filed a complaint with the Jammu and Kashmir Police demanding action against a Facebook page for spreading hate speech against the Shia community.

The complaint alleges that a live video uploaded on the page by Mudasir Aziz featured a woman making offensive remarks towards Shias, referring to them as “Rafizi”. The video reportedly also showed the woman disrespecting her husband for living in a Shia-majority locality.

“Such language not only violates the fundamental rights of individuals to practice their faith peacefully but also contributes to the marginalization and victimization of the Shia community,” Ansari stated in his complaint.

He urged the police to take swift action against those involved in spreading hate speech, emphasizing the need to hold individuals and journalists accountable for their words and actions, especially when they target specific communities.

The Facebook page owner and the woman featured in the video have since released a new video apologizing for any offense caused. “We did not intentionally hurt anyone’s sentiments,” they claimed. “We are sorry if we have done so.”
