Government launches APAAR ID Card: All about its benefits, registration process, how to download, and more

The Ministry of Education, under the Government of India, has introduced the APAAR ID Card as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This initiative aims to provide students with a unique identity number that digitally stores their academic records, achievements, and credentials.

What is the APAAR ID Card?

The APAAR ID stands for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It is a One Nation One Student ID system that allows students in schools, colleges, and universities across India to have a centralized academic identity. The APAAR ID will ensure seamless educational transitions and simplify the tracking of students’ academic progress.

Key Benefits of APAAR ID Card

  • 1. Centralized Academic Data – All academic records, including grades, course details, and scholarships, will be stored digitally.
  • 2. Seamless Education Tracking – The ID follows students from pre-primary to higher education, making transfers between institutions smoother.
  • 3. Aadhaar Integration – APAAR ID is linked to Aadhaar, ensuring authenticity and consistency in academic records.
  • 4. Easy Access to Achievements – Students can view their degrees, awards, and extracurricular achievements without relying on physical documents.
