Pakistan Squad for ICC World Cup 2023, Check Schedule, Match List and Other Details

Pakistan will play their opening encounter in the World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands. ICC World Cup 2023 begins on October 5 (Thursday) in India. At the ODI WC, Pakistan take on India in the much-awaited game on October 14 at the iconic Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. It is set to be the ‘final before the final’, at least for the fans.

A total of 10 teams are part of the tournament.

are part of the ICC World Cup 2023. They will play a total of 48 matches among themselves during the tournament. The final will take place on November 19.

Pakistan team is yet to announce their squad for ICC World Cup 2023. However, Babar Azam is the captain of the team in all three formats and will be named the skipper in the World Cup too.

A number changes are expected in the squad with chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq will have a few names in mind, who can make the cut.

As per sources, Hassan Ali is likely to make a comeback to the 15-member squad.

Mohammad Haris, Usama Mir, Mohammad Wasim Jnr and Faheem Asraf’s selection looks in big doubt.

Star players, Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan are clearly out of form and their performance was evident in the Asia Cup 2023. But as per Pakistani media both of them will make it to the Final squad.

Pakistan team can rely on their lethal pace attack. Pacers like Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah have executed wonderful performances throughout this year. In batting, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Iftikhar Ahmed are a few key batters for the men-in-green.

In the previous edition of the ODI World Cup in 2019, Pakistan failed to reach the semi-finals after finishing at the 5th spot in the points table.

In we talk about the history of ODI World Cups, Pakistan won the trophy once in the 1992 edition. Under former player Imran Khan, Pakistan crushed England in the ODI World Cup 1992 final to grab the trophy.
